If you live in any major city in Europe you know that come June, the jet set crowd grab their bags and head out of city to any number of coastal European hotspots. Every year the number of visitors to the island of Mykonos, part of the Cyclades Islands in the Aegean Sea, grows and this destination is quickly beginning to rival its peers of Ibiza and St Tropez.<\/p>\n

The island offers beautiful landscapes, hot beach clubs and 5* restaurants and with so many options to choose from, I have put together my list of the Hottest Places to Lunch, Brunch and Dine whilst on the Island!<\/p>\n

MYKONOS NAMMOS<\/h3>\n

Mykonos is a playground for the rich and famous and Nammos<\/a> restaurant and beach club is perfectly positioned in the bay on Psarou beach to service those who want to sail their yachts right up to their lunch destination! However, Nammos is not reserved for only the super rich, as long as you avoid a \u00a31,000+ bottles of wine you can enjoy one of the tastiest meals on the island in one of the most beautiful settings.<\/p>\n

The interior of the restaurant itself is stunning, with options to sit indoors, on the terrace or outside amongst the palms.  If you chose to dine inside you will enjoy pretty white washed furniture and walls adorned with butterflies hand painted by artist Katerina Vagia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With over 10 years experience, the restaurant has truly mastered its Mediterranean menu, bringing you a blend of traditional greek mezze, fresh fish caught in the Aegean sea, incredible sushi, sashimi and now delicious cuts of meat from Beef Bar born in Monte Carlo.<\/p>\n

We enjoyed several dishes over the course of lunch, starting with Usuzukuri in Chilli Garlic Soy, Prawn Tempura, Spicy Crab Tartar in Yuzu Truffle and Salmon Teriyaki on Shrimp Tempura. I am usually not a seafood or fish eater, but with dishes this delicious I am converted!<\/p>\n

For mezze, we enjoyed the Mykonian Beef Louza, Fried Zucchini, Arabic Pita Bread with Feta, the Ladatori Cheese Saganaki, the Charcoaled Grilled Sun Dried Octopus and Eggplant Mille Feuille with Feta Cheese Mousse, all of which were delicious! If you have any room left for dessert, you can try from the selection if mousse, cheesecakes, pavlovas and panna cotta.<\/p>\n

KALUA MYKONOS
\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Located on Paragua Beach, Kalua<\/a> offers it’s guests an elegant setting to laze away the day by the ocean whilst stopping only to take a leisurely lunch in its delightful restaurant. The owner, Sebastian, has spent over 10 years refining the beach bar and restaurant, each year making changes to improve the experience and this year, he is expanding the menu to include sushi.<\/p>\n

\"kalua-mykonos-13\"Whilst the interior, with its french vibe is inviting, the food on the menu lives up to all expectations and is truly the reason to visit Kalua. We enjoyed several dishes, which were complemented by a bottle of Petal de Rose, an organic wine hand selected by Sebastian to feature on his menu.<\/p>\n

With an extensive menu to choose from here is my selection of the dishes that cannot be missed when you dine at Kalua. Melt in the mouth and deliciously fresh Tuna Tartare; Fresh Steamed Mussels that are cooked in a garlic tomato broth that you can enjoy with bread once the mussels are finished; Warm Bruschetta with Figs and Goats Cheese; Shrimp Risotto; Quinoa Salad with Cucumber, Avocado and Cilantro and Traditional Zucchini Fritters with Spearmint and Lemon Yoghurt.<\/p>\n

LING LING by HAKKASAN
\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n

After a long day at the beach or exploring the beautiful island make your way into the old town for cocktails and a menu inspired by the izakaya concept at Ling Ling<\/a>, by Hakkasan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Crossing over from a restaurant to a club, you should arrive after 10pm and be prepared to party until late once the DJ’s start around 1pm. The restaurant combines indoor and outdoor dining, catering to a stylish and sexy crowd. The Executive Head Chef Tong Chee Hwee has created a menu of smaller Cantonese plates, an epic dessert menu and an innovative cocktail list allowing you to experience Hakkasan cuisine in a new and fresh way!<\/p>\n

To start, we had the Supreme Steamed Dim Sum Platter, which included lobster dumpling, king crab dumpling, seabass dumpling and edamame prawn truffle dumpling, the Lobster Lemongrass Salad and Wagyu Beef. Each of these dishes lived up to their beautiful appearance, my favourite being the refreshing lemongrass salad which perfectly complements the richer meat dishes.<\/p>\n

There are several main dish options, poultry, meats, fish & seafood and vegetarian, with presentation being as important as taste! I suggest that you try the Grilled King Prawn with Seven Spice Salt, the Black Truffle Roast Duck and the Toban Rib Eye Beef in Spicy Bean Sauce. Theses dishes were absolutely incredible!<\/p>\n

We all know, sometimes its best to check out the dessert menu before you order your main course, and at Ling Ling that’s definitely true! There are several dessert options to choose from, with the most visually impressive being the Chocolate Textures, which comes in a dish with dry ice. You should also try the White Chocolate Mousse and the Yuzu Mousse.<\/p>\n

REMEZZO
\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On most of my trips, my boyfriend and I are usually on a hunt for a place to enjoy shisha \/ hookah and in Mykonos this was no different! With a little research we found three spots that offer sheesha, Nammos<\/a>, (however prices start at around EUR 130!), Nice n Easy restaurant and Remezzo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dating back to 1967, Remezzo is now a popular destination for cocktails, fine Greek dining and parties. Its ideally located overlooking the ocean and the old town, so a great spot to relax during the day or to watch the sunset.<\/p>\n

THEA RESTAURANT MYKONOS
\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Part of the Petinos Hotels<\/a> group, Thea Mykonos is located overlooking the Platis Gialos beach. The word Thea means ‘view’ in Greek and is truly appropriate for this restaurant! Extremely popular, the elegant restaurant offers views of the ocean from every table. I didn’t get time to dine here during my stay, but it came highly recommended from Hotel Nissaki<\/a> so we wandered down to take a look at the impressive views.<\/p>\n

LITTLE VENICE
\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Of course, you can’t miss sunset at Little Venice in the old town. No matter which restaurant or bar you pick you will be rewarded with a beautiful view out over the ocean. It doesn’t matter that this is probably the most touristy spot in Mykonos, clearly there is a reason for that, so make sure you get yourself down there for a cocktail at least once during your trip!<\/p>\n
