Ladies We Love is a monthly interview series with women from around the world that provide us with inspiration through their travels and personal stories. This week we got to know travel blogger Abi Prowse of Viaggio Magazine.<\/em><\/i><\/p>\n

Abi Prowse is an Ambassador and Senior Contributor at We Are Travel Girls. Abi loves to travel and works as a writer and translator. She has been travelling the world exploring different countries, sharing her adventures on her travel blog ViaggioMagazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/b>1. Abi, please introduce yourself to our readers? What do you do? Where are you from?<\/h3>\n

My name is Abi, and I\u2019m a freelance translator and writer in my mid-twenties. Although I was born in Paris, I\u2019m British and was raised in a little village just outside London.<\/p>\n

<\/b>2. You have your own translation company, please tell us about that? How did you get started in the translator industry?<\/h3>\n

As with most things, I kind of stumbled upon translation by accident! After a slight career U-turn following my university graduation \u2013 where I studied Italian & English Literature, I began translating the odd project for my Italian friends in my spare time. I realised how much I enjoyed it, and it snowballed from there!<\/p>\n

Nowadays, I also cover a number of different project types, including content creation and article writing for companies looking to branch out to English-speaking clients.<\/p>\n

<\/b>3. We love your travel blog Viaggio Magazine, what advice would you give to our readers who want to start a blog?<\/h3>\n

The most important thing for me about blogging is to be authentic! Even in such a saturated market, if you are genuine in your content, and you enjoy what you\u2019re writing about, then people will enjoy your writing, too. Try not to focus too hard on blog traffic and reader numbers at first \u2013 that will come as your voice develops.<\/p>\n

<\/b>4. You work while you travel, what is your one piece of advice for other digital nomads?<\/h3>\n

The best advice I can give is to try and establish some sort of vague routine while you\u2019re travelling, in whatever way works best for you! I always try to do sightseeing and activities in the morning, work in the afternoon, then relax and enjoy my evenings as best as I can. Find some nice co-working cafes or choose accommodation with a working area: that way, you get to enjoy your surroundings, too.<\/p>\n

<\/b>5. After traveling to 37 countries, what are your top 3 recommended destinations? <\/span><\/h3>\n

It\u2019s so hard to choose just three, but I\u2019ll try! For a city and beach break, my favourite destination is probably Lisbon<\/a>: especially in the summer, when it really comes to life.<\/p>\n

For breathtaking scenery, I\u2019d recommend Iceland<\/a>. I had dreamed of going there since I was a little girl, and the reality was every bit as incredible as I\u2019d hoped! And, of course, anywhere in Italy is guaranteed to have wonderful food and warm, welcoming people: my favourite spot there is the almost-unknown Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, in the very North-Eastern corner of the country.<\/p>\n

<\/b>6. What would you say is the biggest life lesson you have learnt from traveling?<\/h3>\n

To be prepared for anything, and to keep calm! Things WILL go wrong, but it\u2019s a lot easier to laugh about them than to cry about them. You also never know where that wrong turn will take you. Travelling also teaches you perspective, and to be mindful of other cultures.<\/p>\n

<\/b>7. What destinations are on your bucket list for 2020?<\/h3>\n

This year, I\u2019d love to see Istanbul<\/a>. I\u2019ve never been to Turkey<\/a>, but I\u2019ve always heard such wonderful things about the food and the culture. I\u2019d also love to visit the Portuguese Azores islands for their incredible nature, and I\u2019m planning at some point to finally make it to South America.<\/p>\n

<\/b>8. Do you have any apps you would recommend to our readers, for travel planning?<\/h3>\n

For anyone with a sense of direction as terrible as mine, Google Maps will save your life. It\u2019s also what I use to pin cafes, bars, and restaurants I want to visit before I go somewhere. Get Your Guide is another fantastic app which allows you to book tours and unique experiences wherever you\u2019re travelling to. They offer a lot of brilliant last-minute deals, too!<\/p>\n

<\/b>9. You are an ambassador for WATG, what inspired you to become part of our community?<\/h3>\n

I\u2019ve been reading articles from We Are Travel Girls for years, and after writing a few pieces for them myself last year, I knew that it was a network I wanted to be more heavily involved in! The women in the WATG community are ambitious, inspirational, and adventurous, and are always happy to help others and share their tips and experiences.<\/p>\n

The group is a great help to travellers, anyone moving to a new city, or girls just looking for like-minded individuals. They also allow me to be creative in my content, which I really appreciate.<\/p>\n

\"Abi<\/p>\n

<\/b>10. Now for a fun question, tell us a fun fact about yourself?<\/h3>\n

I am totally deaf in one ear, so I spend a good portion of my life accidentally ignoring anyone on my right-hand side! I also have a slightly unhealthy obsession with pizza and have been known to eat one for lunch and one for dinner 4 days in a row.<\/p>\n
